#SundayRoundup of #Books #Week #24!!!

Welcome to the #SundayRoundup #24

On the homefront:
I am doing good. I am gearing up for summer and I finally got a chance to get in my pool - YAY! Weather is finally getting a bit warmer and we are loving it. I am working on a tan(not really).

Things I know:
I found out that people will never appreciate you like you want them to (really). So you should appreciate yourself cause that is what really matters. Which I do, but you know human nature - you want others to also.

School Front:
I tanked on a test this week (which is ok). It did bring down my grade a bit but I will work even harder to get that score up. Lots to do and not enough time to do it.

I did a little blog re-designing after getting a free template from Cute Blog Design. Only problem I am having is how to get the post part of it wider (html - can't use blog template to do it) and getting my date back on top of the posts. I am not good with html and therefore have not figured this one out yet. How do you like the new design??

Hope your week is great and please leave a link for me to come check out your goodies.

As you know - Each week I take part in

Books I Won:

~Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!~

Books I purchased:

Three sisters. One spell. Countless dead. Lula Mortiz feels like an outsider. Her sister's newfound Encantrix powers have wounded her in ways that Lula's bruja healing powers can't fix, and she longs for the comfort her family once brought her. Thank the Deos for Maks, her sweet, steady boyfriend who sees the beauty within her and brings light to her life.
Then a bus crash turns Lula's world upside down. Her classmates are all dead, including Maks. But Lula was born to heal, to fix. She can bring Maks back, even if it means seeking help from her sisters and defying Death herself. But magic that defies the laws of the deos is dangerous. Unpredictable. And when the dust settles, Maks isn't the only one who's been brought back...
Brooklyn Brujas Series:
Labryinth Lost (Book 1)
Bruja Born (Book 2)
I received some sweet swag with this one because I pre-ordered it! Thank you to Nocturnal Devices for the heads up!

I'm no Prince Charming.

Most people know me as the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. Depending who you ask, I'm also a playboy, a loner, the life of the party, a screw-up, or according to my fans, "The Sexiest Rock Star on the Planet." Apparently, I'm a legend.

Am I surprised? Hell, no. It's a reputation I've earned behind my drum kit and behind closed doors. No one thought foster kid Landon Cox would become famous. Infamous, maybe. Notorious, probably. But successful? Never. No one except Piper Hastings. But I had to make a choice: my woman or my career. I picked fame and fortune... and spent every damn day since pretending I don't regret it.

Now fate's dropped Piper back into my life. I want to believe it's a second chance for me - for us. But while I can give her a few great nights, I can't give Piper a future.

Because there's a difference between a legend and a fairy tale...
Only one of them ends happily ever after.

"You will love this drama filled emotional read that is full of heated exchanges and heart-pounding romance." -Fresh Fiction on Rock King

Rock Rebel

  1. The new design is nice...I must admit I generally don't notice these things until someone tells me but that is due to the number of blogs I visit and a poor short term memory!

    1. Thank you. I sometimes notice and sometimes dont. I think this one is pretty but I might change it, if I can't get it the way I want. =)

  2. I recognize Bring Me Back! I think I saw it somewhere...Netgalley? Edelweiss? Goodreads? I can't really remember. But that "Rock Legend" books seems like a perfect choice for guilty pleasure reaings when you just want to read one heck of a good romance with play/bad boys.

    1. Yes, Tara Leigh writes a great rocker romance. Yes, it was on Netgalley I think (not 100% sure). Have a great week!

  3. I like your new design! Hope you can figure out the html as I have problems with that too! Enjoy your books!

    Have a great week,
    Week in Review

  4. I immediately noticed the new design...because I am obsessed with that kind of thing! LOL.

    I love changing things up.

I loved Bring Me Back. Enjoy your week and your books. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  5. Enjoy your swimming pool and what you said about appreciate yourself is so true Mary! Happy Sunday <3

  6. Yay for Owlcrate. They are my favorite book box subscription service.

  7. The design looks good! Enjoy your new reads! We have yet to go to the pool here and we've lived here 3 years. I hope we make it this summer! Anne - Books of My Heart

  8. Bryan Born looks amazing! I should really check out the series. Have a great week!

  9. I like your new design. It's pretty and inviting. Sorry about your test and hope you can get your grade back up. I spent the morning in the pool. Iy's so hot here that the only way I go outside is if I can jump in when I begin to melt. LOL

    My Sunday Post

  10. Sorry about the test. I’m a terrible test-taker so I almost always did horrible on mine. I like the blog design—it’s cute. Enjoy the pool and your new books. Have a great week!

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  11. I love the new design Mary! And great job staying motivated—we've all bombed a test here and there, but it's almost never the end of the world :) I know you'll kill it on your next one!

  12. Love the new design! I saw it when I stopped by for the Prism tour and noticed it. I'd think you'd be able to change the size in the template design as well as the date since it's Blogger. Email me if you don't know where that is, but maybe you already tried that. I LOVE Owlcrate. It's been a while since I ordered from them as I like to try different boxes, but they're still one of my faves. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

  13. I do like the new look! And good luck with the tweaking- I'm an amateur at HTML too and don't find that part of the process all that fun. :)

Bring Me Back looks good, I liked the BA Paris book I read, and I've been seeing good things about that one.

    Ooh Crowded House!

  14. I like the new blog look and while the post part is a little narrower it isn't impossibly narrow and is still visually easy on the eye. I really want to try B.A. Paris and Owl Crate sounds like so much fun! Have a great week!

  15. I do like your new design. I am sure that you will figure out how to get everything just the way you want it in no time. I have had the chance to get in our pool once this year and it was really nice. I am also not working on my tan :) Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  16. I'd love to be in a pool right now - it's stiflingly hot here!
What did you think of Social Engineer? I read that one a while back and liked the ideas

  17. New design looks good! I'm not very good with the html so I wish you luck on resolving it!

Thank you so much for stopping in! I hope your find some books to stack your shelf with! =)
Please leave a comment - I love them!
