Welcome to the #SundayRoundup #20
This week was a bit emotional for me. I keep thinking of my sister. I guess with school and stress and just everything, it's natural? I have been crying a lot again. Thinking of her is very hard and most times I just don't. I have to consciously NOT think about her. It requires great effort on my part. My first test for Math went well but I am still waiting for my grade on it. I have reviewed Hiding for a book tour this week - that was an accomplishment. I have those two historicals that I am working on - in between studying and school work. But, other then being a bit emotional this week, I am doing good.
On a bright note - me and my better half have celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. YAY, to us! =)
Hope your week has gone well! Leave a comment so I can check out your goodies! If you live in the states - Happy Memorial Day!!

----- MY WONDERFUL WEEK IN BOOKS -----
It's been four years since I lost my mum and I still can't look at photos of her. The first two years were very hard with a lot of tears but it is happening less now. Grief has no set pattern and we all cope differently but it is better to cry, talk about and think about our lost loved ones, however painful, than to bottle it up and not deal with it. Wishing you strength at this time.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know it gets easier with time. I do get that. But, they way she did it. I just have such a hard time with it. Thanks for the kind words.
DeleteMary
Many hugs to you. It's a difficult time for sure.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
Hope you have a great week!
Thank you Yvonne!
DeleteSorry about the loss of your sister. I know how the anniversaries spotlight the sadness.
ReplyDeleteBut...happy 18th anniversary, and enjoy your week. I have a book in the Stillman Lake series...but haven't yet read it. Soon!
Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
I am trying to listen to it but that is a bit hard for me right now. I will get to it too! =) Thank you for the well wishes!
DeleteSo sorry about your sister - I can understand you are having such a hard time with it - can you get some help whereby you can talk it over with a trained counsellor?
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted you and your husband are celebrating 18 years together. I also have the first book in the Rachel Caine series and haven't yet read it. Have a great week...
Yes, I have a counsellor. Thank you for thinking of it. I hope you also get a chance to read it and enjoy it. I loved the first in the series!
DeleteHugs during this emotional time.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to you and your husband. Hope you have a good week ahead!
Thanks Grace!
DeleteCongrats on your 18th anniversary! I hope this happy event helped somewhat to cope with the grief. I lost my Mum five years ago last week and it would have been her 70th birthday last Friday. Those significant dates are the toughest to deal with.
ReplyDelete((hugs))
They are tough to deal with. I have several dates I dread with my parents gone and now my sister. It is just not easy. Thanks for the thoughts.
DeleteMary I am thinking of you... congrats on your exam even if you are still waiting for the results you did your best. xoxo Sophie
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope they are good. I am expecting a certain grade lets hope that is so. =) I only think I missed one question but there wasn't many on the test. So one wrong is a lot of points off.
DeleteCongratulations on 18 years! Awww, look at you two kids in that picture. A Goodreads thing is always something to get excited about too. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteI know, it feels like forever and just yesterday. It's weird like that. But, they have been mostly good years with a few really terrible ones thrown in. =)
DeleteI cannot imagine what you must be going through at the moment. So many mixed emotions! Keeping you in my thoughts <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle!
DeleteHappy anniversary! Sorry you had a tough week. Hopefully this week will be less stressful.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I hope so too. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteHiding looks quite good, and I like your song of the week. Good one!
Thanks Greg!

ReplyDeleteAwesome, I am looking forward to it. I have read the first few chapters and love that the kids have a voice in this one.
DeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. It's aleays hard to lose a loved one. Looks like you have a good support system.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are missing your sister. I simply cannot imagine losing one of my sisters. *sending you hugs*
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your anniversary! My wedding anniversary is basically my favorite "holiday" all year. We always plan a trip or something special. Next year is our 20th! :)
Congrats on the GoodReads win! That's always so exciting. :)

I think grieving is a process. I know when my in-laws died it would come up and slap us in the face periodically for the first year or two sometimes out of nowhere. It's been 10 years and it has gotten easier to really focus on the good versus the end.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary! Have a great week!
I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. I'm sure I would be the same way if I lost my sister. *HUGS*
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and your hubby!
Hard times.. also congrats on anniversary. :__)
ReplyDeleteThe photo of you and your hubby is adorable! Happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget, it's perfectly ok to be emotional. Especially after tough personal times.
Enjoy your new books! Hugs!
