Welcome to the Sunday Roundup #60!!
On the homefront:
Things are still quiet and I am happy about that. My oldest daughter has been accepted and will start her first year of college in September. She is going to our community college. She said she doesn't want a high loan debt and figured she can get all her mandatory classes done there, then she will head to the University of Albany to complete it! Two years goes by fast. We are happy and proud of her!
My youngest daughter and I did a bit of book shopping during the week. As she is more of a contemporary reader and most of my books aren't those. I am trying to get her to read Sadie. =) It was fun picking out some new books for her as she is another big reader like me.

Things I know:
Lord help me. I flunked - yes flunked my chemistry lab quiz...Ughh...I don't want to talk about it at all. I aced my Microbiology test and that is great. I can't believe I am in week 10 of 15 already. That means 5 weeks left to go and this semester is done. This also marks the halfway point of getting my BSN. Only a little over a year left to go! YAY!!
Around the Blogosphere:
Some posts I read this week that I thought were cool:
I did do some blog hopping but didn't write down anything. Will try again to be more proactive with that this week.

Song of the Week:
Your daughter sounds very sensible. It's a good idea to study closer to home where she can get the same subjects done before spreading her wings! My dad is taking forever to read the first Murderbot book and I'm dying to hear what he thinks of it!
ReplyDeleteBeen one heck of a hectic week.. I think that now it's slowing down which gives me some time to take a break
ReplyDeleteI think starting out at community college is a great option! My husband did that, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about The Perfect Child. Any titles with "perfect" in them are bound to be scary thrillers...LOL.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Your daughter is making a great choice and I would be super proud of her also. I wish my kids loved reading as much as me. I think my daughter needs to get a little older to really start enjoying it. She might be a late in life reader. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week, Mary! Happy Reading!
Your oldest daughter is very reasonable! And it's always fun to have some book shopping time with your kids! Mine are both avid readers ;-) Don't stress about your test Mary you did extremely good so far so one flunk is not too serious. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your daughter's college acceptance. I did the first 2 years at my community college before going to university too. I got to stay home and it was an easy commute. Enjoy all of the new books you got!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
I think it's great news about your daughter! Who wants all that debt?
ReplyDeleteI'm really intrigued by The Old Man's Request. I'll check it out.
Hope you'e having a great weekend! Here's my Saturday Post! Oh and here's my Sunday post, too lol xx
Oh I loved All Systems Red and want to read The Broken Girls.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is also taking community college classes because of her health issues and it's easier for her to live at home with me. Hang in there for those 5 weeks! Do you get a summer break, or at least a couple weeks before the next session? I hope you have a great week!

Congratulations on your oldest college. How exciting and yes a proud moment. Love that you and your youngest went book shopping.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your oldest daughter! Sorry about your chemistry test. I hope you pass your class!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!

Your daughter and I probably like a lot of same book. You know I am all about the contemporaries. Congratulations to your elder daughter. It's a wise decision to do the first two years at CC and then the last two at a 4-year school. My niece did that and saved a ton of money.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter! It's funny how fast time goes by and all of a sudden it's college time! And ugh- I hated chemistry so I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of Little Darlings.
I was going to try to read NOS4A2 this month but with everything else I want to get done, it may get pushed to April. We'll see. I couldn't stand Chemistry and that was just in high school. I HATED balancing chemical equations. My teacher looked like Papa Smurf too which didn't help. Me and my lab partner once set my sweater arm ablaze (no injuries) and threw an exploding test tube out the second story window. Fun times.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your daughter! I went to community college, too. I hope your own school gets better soon. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Congrats to your daughter! That's exciting news. :) I've had The Broken Girls kind of on my radar for a while now. I know my library's Overdrive app has it so I might download it from there soon.
ReplyDeleteYour Happy Mary reading is the bomb! Congrats to your daughter and no we can not do everything!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter! That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the Chem test. You'll get it sorted in the end. :)
Hope you've been having a good week Mary!
Where the Forest meets the Stars is so pretty, I will have to look it up later :)
