You can pretend it doesn’t exist, deny it ever happened or tell yourself that it doesn’t bother you anymore but if the weight is where the problem is still there. Period. So when you are broken, and you already have the ingrained pattern of seeking out a substitute [in this case food], it isn’t a far reach to replace people with other broken people too. Thus, the normalcy of seeking toxic or dysfunctional relationships because it feels like home. When you know that environment, lived in that environment, feel those chaotic extremes internally from the environment you will continue to seek that environment. There is nothing wrong with you, your experiences have just broken you and you are making decisions and managing from a place of brokenness instead of wholeness. This is what needs to be fixed not the apples and oranges in your life. Our bodies are designed to seek what it needs so when your needs change from emotional back to physical so will your desire for seeking the right foods.

ReplyDeleteNeed this book!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally confused about cover- if the title wasn't there, I'd assume it was about nicotine addiction- isn't that a broken cigarette in her mouth?
ReplyDeleteCover looks quite cool.
