ReplyDeleteI made my mother a rice pack when I was in middle school- sewn fabric stuffed with rice that you are supposed to microwave.... she still has that ugly thing, never used it because it would have fallen apart, but I love that she still has it!
ReplyDeleteMy mom was thrilled when I gave her a counted cross stitch picture of a little girl with dolls that took me months to complete.
ReplyDeleteI bought my mom a gift basket with all kinds of treats and things along with a dozen roses. And everyone heard about. This was before gift baskets were so common.

ReplyDeleteMy mom has enjoyed being on Facebook to see pics of family so she loved when I bought a laptop for her birthday. She can now keep in touch with family and see what is going on in their life.

ReplyDeleteI can't think of any one gift in particular but I always try to get my mother something that she really has wanted and that she might not think to buy herself. Unique and special gifts can be hard to find but worth the effort in the end. abrennan09@hotmail.com

I gave my mom a locket with her grandchildrens pictures in it. She wore it every day.

ReplyDeleteI gave my mother a dishwasher for the first time in her life when she was 65 years old. I don't know how she cooked every meal from scratch, did dishes for 5 people and did everything by herself all those years. She is gone now but she was a saint Rosanne

ReplyDeleteMy mom was most excited to wear clip earrings with crushed eggshells on her ears. It was a project that the Girl Scout co-leader came up with using dyed eggs that we blew out the insides. Mom was the other Girl Scout leader who specialized in teaching us songs and helping with hikes, learning how to make fires, Dutch Oven and reflector oven baking and camping.
ReplyDeleteI gave my mom an Amazon Alexa. She loves music so along with an Amazon prime acct she can listen to so many songs.
ReplyDeleteAccording to what my Momma said when she was alive, the best gift was a Mother's ring that I got her (and let my little brother claim some credit as well). She refused to remove it during surgeries and, upon her request, was buried with it on.
