Book Description:
Theron: Dark haired, duty bound and deceptively deadly. He's the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from threats of the Underworld.
From the moment he walked into the club, Casey knew this guy was different. Men like that just didn't exist in real life--silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. He was looking for something. Her.
She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron's duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendant of Hercules, he wasn't strong enough to resist the pull in her fathomless eyes, to tear himself away from the heat of her body.
As war with the Underworld nears, someone will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
My Opinion:
I was introduced to this series by this amazing writer and loved every minute of it. I could gush over these books all day and to date I have read 7 of them. Each one was --- a treat! Yes, a treat, that did not disappoint or let me down in anyway. OK, enough gushing, let's get to the meat of the story.
In this first of this series, we meet Theron and Casey. Theron is the leader of the Argonauts that are guardians of the realm to protect the immortals. He is on the hunt for the marked ones and Casey is one of them. He didn't except of course to find her irresistible. Theron is a strong alpha male and these two have plenty of heat to keep you turning the pages. I love how Casey was sassy and able to stand up to the challenges in the book and to Theron. There are lots of twists and turns in this story and Elisabeth sets all the other books up well, she is descriptive with the setting of the Argonauts and of all the characters in this book. Great read and you will want to read more.
I give this book 4.5 of 5 stars!
Before topping multiple bestseller lists—including those of the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal—Elisabeth Naughton taught middle school science. A voracious reader, she soon discovered she had a knack for creating stories with a chemistry of their own. The spark turned into a flame, and Naughton now writes full-time. Besides topping bestseller lists, her books have been nominated for some of the industry’s most prestigious awards, such as the RITA® and Golden Heart Awards from Romance Writers of America, the Australian Romance Reader Awards, and the Golden Leaf Award. When not dreaming up new stories, Naughton can be found spending time with her husband and three children in their western Oregon home. ReplyDeleteThat is a helluva description the author gave that book! Short, sweet, and full of striking language (which, by the looks of the cover and the sound of the book's actual content, matches the style perfectly).
ReplyDeleteGreat review, and thank you for introducing those of us who had never heard of Elisabeth's works! I'm not much for romance myself, but for someone who is, this sounds like it'd be quite a fun series.
You have a beautiful blog here, by the way! :)

ReplyDeleteNo I have not read anything by Elisabeth Naughton. I recommend History of Love, LaRose, Madonnas of Leningrad, Language of Flowers.
ReplyDeleteThis Author is one of my favorites. Your review was Spot On. I loved this book sand the whole series. Haven't read her Contemporary stories yet. But Karen Marie Moning's books are awesome, her Highlander series and Monica MaCarthy has similar series.
